Sacramento Sting

The girls took third place in the Open High School Division this past weekend in Walnut Creek, finishing with a 2 and 1 record. Several of the girls played up with the varsity girls and helped on their own team as well.

The Class of 2011 played down south over the Holiday weekend and came away with a winning record. After winning their first game, they lost to the eventual third place team by 12 points in the second game.

By winning their last two games by double digits they secured a fifth place finish out of 16 teams in their bracket. They had a very good showing against some very competetive teams from Arizona and bonded together as a team once again.

The JV girls team played with the Varsity team this past weekend in the High School division at our Mothers' Day Tourney.

They lost their first game on Saturday to the eventual tourney winners by just 3 points. The next two games were won by large margins and earned them the Consolation Trophy.

The J V Team took care of buisness this past weekend once more.

We played very well as a team and closed out all three games by large margins. This team is peaking at the right time, with Newport and Vegas coming up we need to continue to improve on the little things that Coach Craig keeps reminding us of.

The Class of 2011 played up with the Varsity girls last weekend in the Battle for the North State tourney in Redding. They beat the Foothill Cougars by a large margin and then defeated Upperhand Athletics by a score of 51-30.

We ran into a very good Team Swift from Fairfield in the Championship Game. We kept it within 6 points at halftime but couldn't keep up with their shooting percentage eventually losing by 30.

We also had our annual BBQ at the Lodge above Shasta Lake. All the girls and parents showed up from every level and had a blast!

Great job girls, for giving all you had in a tough division.

The Class of 2011 did it again. They went down to Santa Cruz, played in 6 games in two days and still managed to win their own division for the second year in a row.

They definitely gave all they had by playing three games with the Varsity Team and helping them go 1 & 2. Both games they lost were by single digits. Thanks to Sammy and Courtney for their leadership.

The J V girls won all three games by large margins. However, we played the Wile E. Coyotes, from Chico, in the Championship Game and what a highly competetive game that was.

The J V Team went undefeated to win the Gold City Classic in Oroville
April 4th & 5th. They won two of the games by large margins and played a very talented team from Chico for the third game. We had an outstanding shooting percentage during that game and took home first place !

7 of the J V girls played up in the Varsity Division this weekend and helped to win the consolation trophy. The girls were down by 2 at halftime to the Cal Stars and let one slip away from them, losing 50-40.

In both the second and third game, they won by large margins to go 2 and 1 for the weekend. Thanks again to all the J V girls that played in their own division with the 9th graders and did well also.

The JV Team went 1 and 1 in their first tournament of the season. Their
team was split into three teams to help Varsity and 9th grade.

We lost a very competetive game against the SAS Fury, 47-41 and beat the Stockton Knights 57-29. Thanks to all the girls for being flexible and
playing on several teams. It was a good tourney to get started!
